Pets & Your Mattress!

Hello Everyone,

"My pet stained my mattress, what do I do?" What a common problem this is for you animal lovers out there. Most calls we receive concern the Cat family rather than the Dog family. The common thread seems to be that when Cats get upset for any reason they seem to leave a calling card. Unfortunately there is nothing worse than the odor of cat urine and it is extremely difficult to get rid of. First do something immediately, do not let it set.

We recommend you call a cleaning service and let them know they need to come right away. They use an antibacterial product which will help. We had a customer call back who used Stanley Steamer and were very pleased. It cost them about $85 but they came quickly and she said there is no odor. Unfortunately for pet owners, warranties are voided by any kind of staining. All of our manufacturers, Stearns & Foster, Sealy Posturepedic, Englander, Serta and Simmons will not take back a stained mattress under their warranty.
