Another bit of information to share with you. If you receive a new mattress from Sealy, Stearns & Foster, Serta, or Simmons and it has a few loose threads just clip them off and don't worry. Your mattress is not defective! In the manufacturing process this sometimes happens. If you have an open area that was missed in the manufacturing process then call the store where you ordered your mattress and they will take care of it for you.
An open seam is much different than a loose thread.
