Which mattress for my Elderly Parent?
Hello Everyone,
Our caller from Utah was asking which mattress would be best for her Elderly Mother who will be moving in with her. She uses a walker to move from one location to another.
There are several things to consider. First the comfort level. Do they require something firmer or softer. Second the height of the mattress and box spring. You want the person to be able to sit on the edge and get up easily. We also recommend a mattress that has a foam encased side for extra support. The foam encased side will help them when sitting and getting off the mattress. We had a caller from Boston MA asking about the Simmons World Class Restoration. He loved the mattress because it was very soft. In talking with him he said he sleeps on his back. We usually would not recommend a mattress that is very soft to a back sleeper. We did tell him that this particular mattress can be ordered with a stronger gauge coil and if he is considering this purchase he needs to try it with the stronger gauge coils. Mattress to High! What can we do?
Hello Everyone,
A Common problem today but there are a few solutions. Pillow Tops can be from 12 1/2" to 18" in height. The standard box spring is 9" high but you can ask for a low profile which is usually 5 1/4" high. If your mattress is still to high there is also a low profile bed frame available that is 4 inches off the floor instead of the standard height of 7". Please call 800 385 8319 with any questions.

Caller from Nebraska with warranty concerns. He was having his 2nd mattress exchanged and wanted to know if the Simmons Beautyrest Conner Plush was comparable to his last mattress. Our comparable mattress online is the Simmons Beautyrest Sutherland Plush. What we found out in talking to him is that he has had his queen mattress set on a bed frame that has no center support. He had a 3" sag in his mattress and that can happen without center support. It is very important that your mattress and box spring has the proper support.

We received a call from Deborah in Texas asking which would be better for her? She was comparing the Stearns & Foster Blisswood Luxury plush Euro Pillow Top and the Simmons Beautyrest World Class Atkins plush super pillow top. She and her husband tried both mattresses and he liked the Stearns & Foster because it felt firmer and she loved the Simmons because it was softer.
First both are excellent mattresses. We recommended they try the Stearns & Foster Duval Street Luxury plush Euro Pillow Top or the Stearns & Foster Franklin Park Luxury Plush Euro Pillow Top. He should still like either of these Stearns & Foster mattresses and they will feel softer to her but not as soft as the Simmons Beautyrest. Hopefully a good compromise for both of them.

Serta Perfect Sleeper
Hello Everyone,
We received an email from Sue in Texas asking for our help. She and her husband purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper in 2008. The store she purchased from is now out of business and believes her mattress is defective. She needed to know what to do.
Your warranty is from the manufacturer not the store. If a store goes out of business contact the manufacturer who in this case is Serta and they will arrange an inspection of the mattress. Always keep your receipt in a safe place. Sue would not be able to get a copy of her receipt from the store. The manufacturer needs a copy of your sales receipt for the inspection to take place.

What is the difference between the Simmons Beautyrest Belmont Plush & The Simmons Beautyrest Ballmer Plush
Hello Everyone,
This was a good question from a caller. The Simmons Beautyrest Belmont Plush is a Classic level and the Simmons Beautyrest Ballmer Plush is a World Class level. The Classic level has 800 coils based on a queen size and the World Class level has 980 coils based on queen size. The Classic level has two rows of stronger gauge coils along the sides for support and the World Class level has foam encased sides. The world class Ballmer plush has a much softer feel than the Belmont. Both very nice beds.
