Which mattress for my Elderly Parent?

Our caller from Utah was asking which mattress would be best for her Elderly Mother who will be moving in with her. She uses a walker to move from one location to another.

There are several things to consider. First the comfort level. Do they require something firmer or softer. Second the height of the mattress and box spring. You want the person to be able to sit on the edge and get up easily. We also recommend a mattress that has a foam encased side for extra support. The foam encased side will help them when sitting and getting off the mattress.
