Caller from Albany NY looking for a Firm twin mattress set for her 3 year old child. We suggested she look at a plush level mattress instead of the firm. She wanted to purchase a mattress that would last and that her child would be comfortable on for years to come. We recommended she look at a plush level mattress for two very important reasons. First, the mattress needs to conform to the child's body. A plush mattress with more cushioning in the comfort layers will do this. Secondly, as the child grows she may very well settle into a particular sleeping position or combination of positions.. There is no way of predicting which position or positions she will prefer as she grows. A plush level mattress that is not to soft will be appropriate for all three sleeping positions.
