Are Low Profile Box Springs Supportive?

Callers ask this question often when deciding between the standard 9" box spring or the Low Profile box spring that is usually 5 1/4". The support for your mattress is there with either box spring. With the height of mattresses today, up to 18" it is necessary to offer a lower foundation. When deciding which height is best you need 3 measurements. The mattress height, the foundation height, and height of your bed frame from the floor. For example: Mattress 18", bed frame 6 1/2", foundation 9".

This would place your mattress completely set up at 33" high. If this is to high then you would select the low profile box spring which will lower your total height by 4" making your mattress set 29" completely set up.
