Sealy SpringFree, Adjustable Base

Joe Wrote,

I am looking at an adjustable bed. I've been reading that the foam mattresses work best. What do you think? I tried the Sealy Springfree Weybridge firm and the Beachside plush. I liked the plush.

Hello Joe,
You are correct. The foam mattresses work very well the the adjustable bed base. They are not hindered by coils and are able to move with the bed. The Sealy SpringFree is a good choice and if the Beachside Plush feels best you should go with that one. The Sealy SpringFree is available with us and we do carry the adjustable bases. If you would like more information on the adjustable base call 800 385 8319.

How Much does the queen Heavenly Bed Cost?

Tad wrote,
Had the best nights sleep ever on vacation. Looking for that bed!

Hello Tad,
We have received so many e-mails and calls from people just like you who loved that bed while on vacation. The Heavenly bed is actually a Simmons Beautyrest level bed and is very comfortable as you found out. It comes in a plush comfort level and a pillow top. Most of our inquiries are about the pillow top. Our name for the exact same bed is the Simmons Baran and we have both the plush and the Pillow top. Any size Simmons bed has free delivery and no tax.

Stearns & Foster Hearthstone

Daniel Wrote,

I saw a Stearns & Foster Hearthstone and I was wondering if it is a good bed. I didn't see it on your site. I want a pillow top but this one felt a little hard. My arm falls asleep at night all the time. Is a pillow top the right bed for me?

Hello Daniel,

Where you shopped is showing the Stearns & Foster Hearthstone which is the same as our Blisswood. To answer your question Stearns & Foster makes an excellent bed. If the Blisswood/ Hearthstone felt to hard as a pillowtop make sure you were trying the Blisswood Plush Euro Pillow Top and not the Blisswood Luxury Firm Euro Pillow Top. There is a definite difference in feel. We would suggest you try the Duval Street or the Franklin Park. Of the two the Franklin Park is softest with a layer of Latex. Most models that have a layer of Latex in them will feel a little softer and we believe you would benefit from the softer Latex. By your description it sounds as though pressure on your shoulder is causing your arm to fall asleep. A pillow top on the softer side will help with this! We can deliver to you free, no tax and at a discounted price.

My box spring won't fit

Patrick wrote:

I moved to a townhouse and my queen box spring won't fit up the stairs to my bedroom but I want a queen bed in my master bedroom. How do I make it fit?

Hello Patrick,
This happens all the time. Usually the mattress can be bent enough to manage a tight space, turn or stairs. The box spring however is rigid and if the space is to small it just won't go. Since you already have the queen set we would suggest you check with a store near by and ask if they carry split queen boxsprings. It would be best to stay with the manufacturer of your queen set. If you bought a Sealy ask for Sealy queen split box springs. Split boxsprings are two individual boxsprings that equal the size of the standard queen box spring. A queen boxspring is 60 x 80 and the two split boxsprings are 30 x 80. You should have no problem getting these into your master bedroom and they will be just as supportive as the regular size.

Lack of Sleep may cause...

The Mattress Doctor Team read,

When our team reads an article of interest we like to share it with our readers.
The November/December issue of Sleep Savvy had a very interesting article about how the lack of sleep effects us. According to a study in the journal Science lack of sleep may be a cause of Alzheimer's disease. There was a study done by researchers at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St.Louis where they studied amyloid beta levels in mice genetically engineered to have a disease similar to Alzheimer's. The amyloid beta protein creates plaques in the brain. The researchers found that the amyloid beta levels increased when the mice were awake and decreased when they were asleep. A good nights sleep is so important to our health.

Help with my Stearns & Foster Warranty!

Need Help in Illinois wrote,

I have a Stearns & Foster mattress I bought 5 years ago and it has two huge sink holes where we sleep. I called the store where I bought it and they are no longer in business.
What do I do?

Hello "Need Help in Illinois"

First do not worry! You have a 10 Year Full warranty with Stearns & Foster. You did the right thing by calling the store first where your purchase was made. Under normal circumstances the store would handle your warranty claim to the manufacturer on your behalf. Your warranty is with Stearns & Foster so you are still covered even though the store is longer in business. We are forwarding you The Stearns & Foster link and if you scroll to the bottom on the left side you will see a number to call for your warranty. Just let them know that the store is not in business and they will take care of you. You will need your original receipt.

Simmons Angelique Mattress

Linda wrote:

My husband and I saw a Simmons mattress at our local store. The mattress had pocketed coils and we were told this would be a good mattress if my husband tosses and turns most of the night. They called the bed the Angelique. He wakes me up continuously with his constant turning over all night long.

Hello Linda,

The Simmons Beautyrest World Class level is the bed you saw in your local store. This would be a very good bed for anyone who tosses and turns through the night. As your husband tosses and turns his motion is transferred to you disturbing your sleep. With the Simmons Beautyrest the coils are individually wrapped and when he turns the coils directly under him are what move and there is very little side to side transfer of motion. Another mattress you might want to look at is the Stearns & Foster. They now have the individually pocketed coil system and you will have the same benefit as the Simmons. We carry both manufacturers. Our Ballmer is the same as the Angelique. Please give us a call if you would like a few comparisons on the two products. Both come in different comfort levels so you should have no problem finding a mattress that feels good to both you and your husband. Hopefully with a new mattress he won't be tossing and turning as much! 888 762 0670

Susan Said,

Natural Latex or Synthetic

Houston said,
Latex Mattresss
I have a latex mattress and I need to replace it. I have had it for 30 years and would like to purchase one that will last as long as this one. I like a firmer feel. Do you have an recommendations? I have shopped here locally and I am confused. Which is better, natural latex or synthetic latex? I have allergies to just about everything and the sales person here said that I should not get a natural latex mattress. The one I have had for 30 years is natural latex. Can you please help?
Houston

Hello Houston,
We think the Natural and the Synthetic Latex are both good products. You are obviously not allergic to the Natural Latex so our suggestion would be to stay with what you know works for you. The Latex beds have a 20 year warranty and will most likely last longer as is your experience. We have a section on our GoToMattress.com featuring Latex & Memory Foam. The Sealy Springfree and Stearns & Foster Oasis are Synthetic Latex and the Simmons Natural Care and Englander are Natural Latex. They are both excellent choices but we recommend you stay with the Natural.
Give us a call at 866 762 0670 if you need any further assistance.

Hey Sleep Doctor, I have one for you! I weigh over 300 pounds

Need Some Sleep! said...

Hey Sleep Doctor, I have one for you! I weigh over 300 pounds and my wife is in the high 100's. She would kill me if I put her actual weight. Anyway, what would you suggest for she and I, we have already squashed our Pillowtop that is only a few years old.

Hello Need Some Sleep,

I think we can help you in selecting a mattress that is both comfortable and offers strong upward support for you and your wife. It is very important if you are selecting a coil system mattress that the gauge of the coil is strong. Stearns & Foster and Simmons offer mattresses with the stronger gauge coil systems. We also highly recommend the Latex or Visco Memory Foam beds for support and comfort. You might want to look at Tempur-pedic, Simmons Natural Care, Englander, Sealy Springfree Latex, Sealy Trueform or the Simmons NxG. It is very important that the support of the mattress holds your spine in alignment and that the comfort relieves pressure. We have actually created a selection of products that should meet your needs. Larger Customers.

We are very familiar with all the product and if you would like some help in narrowing your search please give us a call at 888 762 0670.
